Racing legend Sonny Hayes is coaxed out of retirement to lead a struggling Formula 1 team—and mentor a young hotshot driver—while chasing one more chance at glory.

Real Racing Action: The film crew was granted access to actual Formula 1 race weekends during the 2023 and 2024 seasons to capture authentic footage. This included filming at iconic tracks like Silverstone, Monza, and Spa-Francorchamps.
Hamilton's Expertise: Seven-time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton served as a producer and technical advisor, ensuring the film accurately portrayed the sport's nuances. He even coached Brad Pitt and Damson Idris on driving techniques.
Modified F2 Cars: While Brad Pitt appears to be driving an F1 car, he and Damson Idris were actually behind the wheels of modified Formula 2 vehicles. These cars were upgraded with F1-style components and specialized camera equipment.
Custom Camera Tech: Sony developed a prototype camera specifically for the film, featuring a detachable "sensor-on-a-stick" design to fit within the tight confines of the F1 car and capture immersive in-car shots. This allowed for unprecedented camera angles and movement during filming.
Sound of Speed: Hans Zimmer, who also created the score for Rush (2013), composed the film's score and was heavily involved in the sound design to capture the powerful and emotional experience of Formula 1 racing. He aimed to blend the music with the roar of the engines to create an authentic soundscape.
