Bautista's Brainchild: The whole project was kickstarted by Dave Bautista, who tweeted back in 2021 about wanting to do a Lethal Weapon-style buddy cop movie with Jason Momoa. He put the idea out into the atmosphere, and it actually happened!.
From Nemesis to Brothers: Before playing brothers, Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista worked together on the series See, where Bautista played Momoa's nemesis. According to writer Jonathan Tropper, they were both eager to sink their teeth into acting roles that weren't necessarily heroic.
Hawaii is more than beaches: The story is set in Hawaii, but the filmmakers wanted to showcase more than just the typical tourist spots. They aimed to portray the reality of everyday Hawaiians, drawing parallels to Puerto Rico, showing that there's more beyond the "beautiful beaches and palm trees".
Director's Reunion: Bobby Krlic composed the music for The Wrecking Crew, marking his second collaboration with director Ángel Manuel Soto, the first being Blue Beetle.
Final Performance: The Wrecking Crew features the final acting role of David Hekili Kenui Bell, who passed away on June 12, 2025. Interestingly, Bell also appeared in the live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch alongside Maia Kealoha, who is also in The Wrecking Crew.

Another generic comedy/action movie. Predictable plot where the comedy was a bit hit and miss. "Jack the Muss" / Eemuera Morrison is always a good presence. Highlights would be the action sequences although some of the CGI wasn't of the highest quality.
