"Wuthering Heights" (2026)

A passionate and tumultuous love story set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire moors, exploring the intense and destructive relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw.

Director's Familiar Faces: Director Emerald Fennell cast Alison Oliver, who starred in her previous film Saltburn. Fennell also worked with Margot Robbie as a producer on Promising Young Woman and Saltburn.
Music with a Modern Twist: Charli XCX contributed an album of original songs to the film, and Anthony Willis composed the score. The lead single, "House," features Welsh musician John Cale.
Heathcliff's Look: Jacob Elordi's casting as Heathcliff sparked debate, with some questioning the choice to give him muttonchops and a gold tooth, and others felt his look strayed from the novel's description of Heathcliff as "dark-skinned". Fennell defended her decision to cast Elordi, stating that he "looked exactly like the illustration of Heathcliff on the first book that I read".
Filming Locations: While interiors were filmed at Sky Studios Elstree, location shooting took place in the Yorkshire Dales, including Arkengarthdale, Swaledale, and the village of Low Row, to capture the essence of the moors. The Surrender Bridge, also seen in the opening credits of the original All Creatures Great and Small, is featured.
VistaVision Comeback: Wuthering Heights was filmed using 35mm VistaVision cameras, contributing to the format's revival in filmmaking. Linus Sandgren, known for his Oscar-winning cinematography in La La Land, was the cinematographer.
