The Good Boy (2026)

A 19-year-old criminal, Tommy, is kidnapped and forced into a rehabilitation process by a dysfunctional couple, Chris and Kathryn, who try to make him a "good boy." Tommy must find a way to escape.

A Real Star is Born: The lead role of Indy is played by director Ben Leonberg's own dog, also named Indy. Leonberg chose to cast his dog instead of using a trained animal actor.
No Doubles Allowed: Indy didn't have a double, and portrayed himself in every scene of the film. This made the filming schedule longer because of the difficulty of working with a dog.
Home Sweet (Haunted) Home: The movie was filmed over three years in a house in Harding Township, New Jersey. The house served as the primary location, contributing to the film's contained and intimate atmosphere.
A Dog's Point of View: "Good Boy" takes place entirely from Indy's perspective, sometimes literally putting the audience in his head as he takes in his surroundings. The film explores the idea of a dog detecting malevolent forces that humans can't perceive.
Title Tussle: Another film, starring Stephen Graham, was initially titled "Good Boy", but was retitled to avoid confusion with the dog horror movie. The Graham film was renamed "The Good Boy" in the UK and "Heel" in the US.
