From Gildon to Pat-Treek: Eric Stanton Betts initially auditioned for a different character named Gildon. After his audition, Tyler Perry was so impressed that he rewrote the role of Joy's boss, originally envisioned as a white woman in her 50s, specifically for Betts, transforming the character into Pat-Treek.
Real-Life Romance Connection: Aaron O'Connell, who plays Colton, has his real-life wife, Natalie O'Connell, appear in the film as Colton's fiancée, Heather. Natalie O'Connell is a model, former America's Next Top Model contestant, and Miss California USA 2012.
