Ballerina (2025)

Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Eve Macarro begins her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

Inspired by a Trailer: The screenwriter, Shay Hatten, was inspired to write Ballerina after seeing the trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2. He initially conceived it as a standalone project, but Lionsgate later integrated it into the John Wick universe.
Real Dancer Inspiration: While Ana de Armas plays the lead role of Eve, she is taking over for Unity Phelan, a real-life professional dancer who briefly played a ballerina character in John Wick: Chapter 3.
Between Chapters: Ballerina is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023), making it a direct tie-in to the existing timeline.
Reshoots for Perfection: The film's release was pushed back to allow for additional reshoots, ensuring it meets the high-action standards set by the John Wick franchise. Producer Chad Stahelski worked on these additional action sequences with director Len Wiseman.
A Napkin Plot: According to one reviewer, the plot is like "someone choreographed a ballet while blackout drunk on absinthe". They jokingly suggest the writers found a napkin with "ballerina assassin revenge arc???" scribbled on it and decided to make a movie.
