Nikos plays the bouzouki and tries to make ends meet in order to feed his wife and child. However, he gets caught up in the nightlife, is deceived, and ends up in prison for smuggling. His daughter Kaiti falls seriously ill and needs urgent surgery. His wife Martha won't tell him anything and, in her desperation to find money, she accepts the offer of the wealthy George to become his mistress in exchange for him paying for the operation...
