Director's Stamp: Nia DaCosta, director of 'The Bone Temple,' consciously avoided mimicking Danny Boyle's style from '28 Days Later'. She wanted to bring her own unique, visually adventurous, and classically grounded filmmaking approach to the sequel.
Cult Leader Inspiration: Jack O'Connell's character, Jimmy Crystal, the psychopathic cult leader, is disturbingly modeled after real-world predators and celebrity worship, creating a calculated insanity. The cult, known as "the Jimmies", brands its members with an upside-down crucifix.
From Victim to Alpha: Chi Lewis-Parry, who plays the Alpha infected named Samson, underwent training with Ralph Fiennes to prepare for their characters' bizarre dynamic. Samson's approach to Kelson changes drastically due to the drugs Kelson used in the previous film.
