Regretting You (2025)

Morgan Grant and her daughter Clara explore what's left behind after a devastating accident reveals a shocking betrayal and forces them to confront family secrets, redefine love, and rediscover each other.

Allison Williams, who plays Morgan, was already a huge fan of the Regretting You novel before being cast and felt a deep connection to the story and characters. This made portraying her role on screen even more meaningful to her.
In an early version of the film, Clara (Mckenna Grace) and Miller (Mason Thames) were supposed to have an iconic kissing-in-the-rain scene; however, it was ultimately given to Morgan and Jonah. Instead, Clara surprises Miller at his job in a movie theater for their epic kiss.
The filmmakers chose to shoot the movie in Atlanta, Georgia, and its suburbs, because of the state's diverse landscapes, favorable weather, and studio presence. Although the novel is set in a small town in Texas, the production team thought Georgia was a better fit.
Dave Franco, who typically plays comedic roles, stated that he was excited to try something new by entering the "Colleen Hoover-verse". He mentioned that he had never done a straight drama that also had a romantic element, making it a bit scary but also a reason to take on the role.
For the flashback scenes, the director initially wanted Dave Franco to wear a terrible wig to appear younger. However, the director chose to de-age the adult cast instead of creating a separate one for the flashbacks.
