Political thriller based on the bestselling book of the same name by writer Arpad Soltész. It is set in the world of high politics, organized crime and big money. A promising member of parliament with the support of mafia starts his own party, which later wins the election with a landslide, and he becomes Prime Minister. Together with him, the country will be ruled by criminals who control the police, the courts and state business and subsidies. The mafia is also behind the disappearance of a teenager, Broni, from a rehabilitation centre. The girl is missing only by her friend Nada. She tells journalist Ondra about the missing inmate and the strange practices used by the management of the facility, such as forced sex or drugging. Based on her testimony, the young editor embarks on a dangerous investigation to uncover high-ranking politicians' links to the underworld and expose their abuse of power to enrich themselves and manipulate others.

A mother and her three daughters. The mother presents her daughters with a model of a domineering woman whom they do not understand and for whom they have respect. And even though they long for her love, openness and friendship in their hearts, they cannot get close to her. They don't understand what has caused their mother to be unable to love them all, without always choosing just one of them as a plaything, which she throws into a corner after a while. Nor do they understand their mother's dissatisfaction with her own life. They know nothing of her unfulfilled desire for a career, of her unloved husband, of her secret love for a young man... The story is interspersed with the serious event of her mother's terminal illness. Following this news, the daughters come to the old family home. And so, paradoxically, it is against the backdrop of an unpleasant fact that they are forced to meet and seek a way to each other.

The story takes place at the beginning of the 20th century. Little Lojzík, whose mother was killed by lightning, lives on a farm with his father and an old farmhand. The harsh world has taught him to perceive images that remind him of his lost mother's embrace. He searches in vain among people for someone to whom he can once again become emotionally attached. He finds no support or security in his father, his mother's sister, or his stepmother Róza, even though she was the only one who showed compassion for the boy at the beginning of their life together. Dark satire about bare-knuckled capitalism in the immediate post-Cold War era. Set just as the Communist government is collapsing, the film focuses on the brutish Racz, the handyman in a Bratislava hotel. Knowing that his job is insured for life, Racz turns off the building's heat and demands food, money, and sex to have it restored. The film is narrated by a pimp named Urban who explains that people in the former Czechoslovakia were so used to being abused that they simply put up with Racz's corruption. By the end of the film, Racz's fortunes have changed considerably. Instead of being a lowly worker, he is now a ruthless and wealthy businessman, unafraid to kill or kidnap those who get in his way.
