Students who come to Yogyakarta to study, also have their first taste of love and sex. Three friends, Benny, Lesmono, and Larso find this out for themselves. Benny, a ladies’ man, introduces his friends to prostitution. Lesmono is secretly in love with Indri, but she falls into the hands of Benny. Benny, who takes life very lightly, manages to smuggle Indri into his room in the lodging house. When he goes home to Jakarta, Indri is anxious because she misses her period. Lesmono helps her to find a shaman who can perform an abortion. But when she goes to see a doctor, she finds out that she is not pregnant after all. Lesmono hopes to get Indri back but his hopes vanish when Benny returns and Indri goes back to him. Attempting to represent the teenagers’ psychological state in relation to love and sex; the film only manages to be jokey and shallow.

Darma (Deddy Mizwar), the owner of several companies, suddenly appoints his horse trainer, Ucha (Cok Simbara), as director of one of his businesses that was previously managed by old friends of Darma from the revolutionary period. Ucha attempts to revamps the company as expected, but his efforts are all undermined by Darma’s old friends. Ucha also runs into trouble at home, when his chubby wife lets his new position as director and her status as wife of the director go to her head. She is insistent that she needs a makeover and that their house needs upgrading in line with their new social status. As these various conflicts reach a head, Ucha finally confronts Darma with the reality of his friends’ betrayal, and threatens to quit. Darma understands the situation, but cannot bring himself to fire his old friends.

With the theme song, Indonesia Tanah Pusaka, the film’s melodrama takes on a nationalistic undertone. Hendrik Maulana, a staff officer in the Netherlands’ Indonesian Embassy, and his half-Dutch wife Nona, return to Indonesia. Hendrik is aware that he has to work hard in his country to support his family. So he trains as an air traffic controller before he returns home. However, there is still the cultural clash and his children have to adjust to school and their hometown. Then Eka, their second child, who is always the scapegoat of the family, runs away. Eka is attracted to an orphan ice seller who can support himself. He joins him selling the ice until he is stricken with typhus. His friend then breaks the news to Hendrik and Nona. Both parents rally with their three children, to complete the family again.

This movie is a remake of Pengantin Remadja 1971 original version which is also one of indonesian legendary love story movie such as Badai Pasti Berlalu, Gita Cinta SMA, etc. This Movie tells the love story among two of teenage kids unfortunately restrained by difference in social status of both family which are diplomat and farmer family. Some Scenarios have changed compare to original one which ends tragically. In the original 1971 starring by Widyawati and Sophan Sophian while in this remake Pengantin Remaja 1991 replaced by Vivi Samodro and Bucek Depp. The Musical illustrations are also impressive. Both of original Pengantin Remadja 1971 and this remake 1991 are directed by the same person Wim Umboh and music arranger Idris Sardi.

Hamid and Fakhrudin have more similar views with their teacher, while Zainudin is more radical. The latter organises a rebellion and fails. The Dutch keeps arresting people. Hamid, disappointed by Zainab’s marriage to someone else, sails to Mecca. Halimah is left to organise the fight for freedom but in the end, is also captured by the Dutch. The film’s message is that a physical fight for freedom, without being based on religious morality, will become meaningless.

Iwan, a high school student, loses his bajaj-driver father because the jeep of Dance Lintang, a famous singer, runs him down. Iwan’s pregnant mother has to work hard. Then when his girlfriend Tia yells at him for doing that, he instinctively runs off with his siblings. He is imprisoned as a result but a journalist, Miftah, who knows his talent, bails him out. Iwan decides to quit school and Miftah manages to record him. Dance is furious when he hears that Iwan is making a record. He approaches the producer and destroys the recording tape. Then Dance gets arrested for narcotics while Iwan’s record is a major hit, so he brings his siblings home from the orphanage.
