Ivan Hálek, son of the famous poet Vítězslav Hálek, studied medicine and devoted his life to the Slovak countryside. However, the hero and his young wife also become acquainted with folk customs, songs, and the colorful culture of the poorest. And he proclaims that only those who rid them of terrible mass poverty can provide these poor people with true living water.

Život na úteku (1976)
In Slovakia, they often and gladly honored those soldiers who refused to serve the fascist regime and stood against it. Lieutenant Kukorelli also rejected the tempting career of a pilot, instead helping the resistance fighters and later participating in the Slovak National Uprising.

Tanec lásky a smrti (1993)
A psychological drama of a high-profile family in the 1920s. András Erdély, the son of an influential MP, is placed in a psychiatric sanatorium to escape punishment for the murder of his wife. Through his memories and intimate confessions, the viewer gets to know the atmosphere of the house ruled by his despotic father, the son's journey from "better society" to a social career and uncovers the secret of his sexual deviations, everything that led András, a mentally disturbed man, to crime. The story of love, morbid passion and hatred is also a questioning of the roots of evil in man, of responsibility for one's own actions and of the limits of tolerance and medical ethics.

Člny proti prúdu (1982)
War tests human character severely, because the slightest suspicion of failure is hard to live with. A resistance worker who finds himself in such a situation would rather sacrifice his own life in order to dispel once and for all the doubts of those around him. Thus an agitprop was created about the moral maturity of those who consciously and from the right class positions fought against Nazism.

Stupně poražených (1988)
The top sport was also closely monitored in the communist era, and officials were naturally bothered that the pentathlon team failed to win the World Championships. But the measures that should have ensured redress were caught up in a web of behind-the-scenes machinations that backfired on the athletes themselves, their endurance and their family backgrounds. While the film has critical ambitions and wants to reveal much of what should have remained hidden from the public eye, it is a rather clumsy and schematic view, not very convincing in terms of realisation.

Prvá noc pri mŕtvej (1993)
Television adaptation of a short story by Czech journalist and novelist Jakub Arbes. The depiction of love and death brings a suggestive story about jealousy, a destructive passion that becomes self-destructive as well. Unable to forgive this double betrayal, she fanatically sets her sights on destroying her rival's happiness.

Bičianka z doliny (1981)
A TV adaptation of Zuzka Zguriška's novel of the same name. The story takes place in a characterful Slovak village. It shows a picture of the inhabitants of Myjava in the 1920s, where there is no lack of freshness, brightness, liveliness and cheerfulness. The main character, a wealthy patriarchal ruler, orders her three adult sons around. She refuses to acknowledge her son's love; she does not want a poor bride. She enjoys the rich Susanna, whom the second son marries. After many convoluted and humorous transformations, the poor girl nevertheless wins the seemingly stony heart of the Scourge.
