The Roman Catholic Pope is planning a reconciliatory meeting with the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, an event awaited for many generations. But suddenly, right while the Pope is addressing the crowds gathered in the Piazza Navone, a nun is assassinated by a Ukrainian, placing the upcoming talks between the two leaders in jeopardy. And the head of the American diplomatic corps (the nun was an American) assigns the investigation of the killing to one of his underlings, which leads the young man to investigate the Russicum, a center for the study of Russia within the Vatican city. And from there he finds himself caught up in an intrigue of international proportions, filled with agents and double agents, and ending with a revelation most unexpected.

Bruno De Santis, successful TV presenter, was left by his wife Sofia. One day he decides to call her to convince her to come back but her device is broken. By a strange twist of fate, it happens in the house of three women, Vera, Simona and Betty, who, tired of their respective husbands and boyfriends, live together and manage a boutique. By them he is pitied, pampered and even hosted in their apartment. And so Bruno, little by little, becomes the sultan of the little harem.

Two Sicilian shopowners who live in Rome pick up some beatnik hitchhikers and the group gate-crashes their seaside villa. In the meantime the two men's wives smell something fishy going on and go to the villa themselves. To make things worse the place is also invaded by three prison fugitives who terrorize the lot.
