Upon their arrival in Flat Oak for a semi-centennial celebration, renowned shootist Mance Dixon and his friend Clabe run into a surviving victim of a vicious vigilante group known as The Tramplers. Offering her protection once in town, matters become complicated when a con artist posing as a mythologic killer lends his services to a large cattle baron heading the hired killers. As college students Jake and Jan struggle to stay afloat in the current economic climate, a lucrative business opportunity presents itself through their angel investor and landlord, George. After an unfortunate series of events, the deal suddenly falls apart, and the couple, now further in debt, takes drastic measures to eliminate George to collect a large sum of money. But things do not always go to plan and after numerous failed attempts to wipe out their intended target, the couple goes on the run with George in close pursuit to even the score.

In Oakland California we're introduced to a family leaving their 3 year olds "Red Egg & ginger" party. A young Black father named Reggie is completely oblivious to how he botched a traditional Chinese event important to his Asian-American wife. June will one-up Reggies mistake with her lack of understanding her husbands Black experience. In the heat of an argument Reggie leaves to reach out to his father and meets him at his fencing club. Even then Reggie doesn't get the validation he desperately seeks. We'll witness a married couple fighting for their toddler to know and understand their cultures fully.
