Life's Whirlpool (1916)
Eight years before the release of Erich Von Stroheim's Greed, Frank Norris's 1899 novel McTeague was adapted to the screen by World Film. The basic story pretty much follows the book: McTeague (Holbrook Blinn) is a coarse young man who becomes a dentist, after a fashion. He is rivals for the hand of Trina Sieppe (Fania Marinoff) with his pal Marcus Schuller (Walter Green). McTeague weds her and she wins the lottery. But she refuses to let go of the money, and her miserly attitude destroys the marriage.

The Wolf's Fangs (1922)
North woods melodrama centering about a brutal trapper known as 'The Wolf.' He is in love with the daughter of the French factor, but is opposed by her sweetheart. The two suitors fight and the Wolf is defeated. He vows revenge, and later captures his rival, threatening to kill him unless the girl consents to marry himself. To save her lover's life, she agrees. But the Wolf had reckoned without a girl whom he had betrayed and discarded, and when he returns to his cabin, finds her. He struggles with her, but is shot and killed by the girl's sweetheart, leaving the lovers free to marry.

The Inner Voice (1920)
Mark Reid, a young prospector, discovers gold in the Sierra foothills. He meets an old man known as "The Good Samaritan," who counsels him and welcomes him into his home. While he is away registering his claim, another prospector, Mike O'Hara, comes along, and, seeing no one around, takes possession of the gold mine. When Reid returns, the two engage in a struggle. As Reid is about to be overcome, an Indian slips a dagger into his hand. Reid is about to stab O'Hara when The Good Samaritan appears and stops the fight. Reid and the O'Hara set aside their differences and decide to become partners.

New York City society girl Evelyn Whitney is determined to prove that she can make her own living on the Lower East Side. Having no luck with her first attempts she succeeds as cafe singer Mary Malone falling for former gang leader Larry Marshall along the way. Trouble comes when the jealous Stella attempts to stab Evelyn and is shot by Larry. Evelyn flees to her home and becomes seriously ill, but learning that Larry is on trial for murder, she rallies to testify on his behalf.
