Signed: Lino Brocka (1987)
Documentary filmmaker Christian Blackwood profiles controversial Filipino director Lino Brocka, detailing his rags-to-riches rise in the mainstream film industry of the Philippines. Primarily using interviews with the effusive director himself, Blackwood allows Brocka to describe, in his own terms, the common thematic threads tying together his work, from his own homosexuality to the political repression suffered by Filipinos at the hands of Ferdinand Marcos' dictatorial government.

Bayarang Puso (1996)
Jose Javier Reyes' dramatic thunderbolt from Regal Films, "Bayarang Puso" which stars Aga Muhlach, Lorna Tolentino, and Carmina Villaroel is a movie about decadence and materialism set against a backdrop of the most recent leisure class craze, ballroom dancing. Although the film makes obviously wild pirouettes around this very interesting subject-dance instructors and their willing and able clientele and whatever relationships they have in between- it is in fact an intriguing drama about love, avarice, and betrayal.

Katas ng Saudi (2007)
After 10 years working as a supervisor for an oil drilling firm in Saudi Arabia, Oca (Jinggoy Estrada, in a somewhat restraint performance) returns to the Philippines to visit his family. The film opens with his wife (Lorna Tolentino), best friend (Bayani Agbayani) and dotting mother (Vangie Labalan) waiting patiently for Oca's arrival at the airport. We are then introduced with the rest of the star studded cast, as Oca visits his house, where he meets up with his estranged kids (Shaina Magdayao, Arron Villaflor, Julian Estrada), and parents in loss (in-laws), which shows no affection whatsoever towards him. Only his drinking buddies, mother, and sister, are excited on his return, only because they see him as a prized cash cow. Jose Javier Reyes revisits his movie, Bayarang Puso (1997), in a cheese filled dance sequence, Oca drunk as ever grooves with no pretension. This and other embarrassing situations tears the family slowly apart.
