During the years when World War I began to turn the Ottoman Empire's territories into a war zone, the pain of a great love story that unfolded in southeastern Anatolia and present-day Syria burned as fiercely as the war itself in the hearts of those involved. Sabit spends all his time in a shabby, old neighborhood cinema that shows pornographic films. The cinema is his home, his universe, his everything. This place is a different world because, in addition to all this, there are different types of people who frequent the cinema. Drunks, smokers, heroin addicts, gamblers, and perverts live in different worlds. These are the types of people we might encounter in the novels of Dostoevsky, Bukowski, or Kafka. One day, when manager Celal quits his job, the cinema owner assigns Sabit the task of bringing films from the film companies in Beyoğlu. Sabit sees Zerrin Öz, once a sex symbol at the film company, and becomes obsessed with her. He stalks her obsessively, constantly watching her and calling her on the phone. This obsession will lead him into a dangerous adventure.

The story takes place in Harbiye town of Antakya just before the 1960 military coup d'etat. The economic and political crisis of those days are reflected by the both funny and sad story of a family. The story is told from the eyes of Cemal. Now a famous painter, Cemal goes back to his hometown years later and remembers his childhood. In those days Cemal's father and uncle, member of rival political parties, are in a continious struggle with each other. The film depicts this absurd struggle and the strange stories of people in Harbiye together with the lyric story of the famous waterfall of the town.
