The legend of the life of Antonio 'Gauchito' Gil and the construction of the myth are axes of this story. 40 years after his death, an old man goes through the towns telling the legend of the pagan saint. Based on four experiences—Francisca in the Aymara Network of ERBOL Bolivia, Almir in the Amazon incorporating the Internet, Matías in the Mapuche Radio of Patagonia, and Ariel working with video in the villages of Brazil—the documentary seeks to represent the way in which indigenous peoples use their own means of communication to resist the invasion of their territories, the plundering of their resources, legal persecution, cultural discrimination, the lack of official recognition of their institutions, the denunciation of their inequalities, and the vindication of their differences.

This micro-documentary is a chapter of the series Who I am?, which proposes a reflective journey through moving testimonies, emblematic places and the struggle for human rights, truth and justice. In the former clandestine detention centre Pozo de Banfield, Teresa Laborde Calvo narrates her birth in the car that transported her mother to the place, and Miguel Santucho tells the story of his mother’s last days. Together they walk through the space of memory narrating the way in which they reconstructed their identities, the present of each one and the importance of having dared to find the truth and continue searching for the missing grandchildren.
