Young Jim Hawkins and peg-legged Long John Silver set sail for adventure in Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of dastardly pirates, swashbuckling heroes, buried treasure and a young boy's amazing courage. The narrative diverges from that of the novel in that Captain Smollett convinces Squire Trelawney and Doctor Livesey to cut Jim out of his rightful share of the treasure and so Jim then teams up with Silver.

Beyond the Red Wall: The Persecution of Falun Gong focuses on the story of Canadian Falun Gong member Kunlun Zhang, an artist and professor at McGill University, who was arrested and sentenced to nearly three years in a Chinese labour camp. Falun Gong, a method of exercise and meditation was outlawed in China in 1999 by President Jiang Zemin. Since that time it is believed by the Falun Gong, that thousands of followers of this spiritual movement have been sent to Chinese jails. There, they believe many have been tortured and even killed. There are also allegations, contained in a report co-authored by Canadian lawyer David Matas and David Kilgour, former Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific, that Falun Gong practitioners have been victims of organ harvesting in China. Chinese Officials deny all such claims.

After her husband's death, Mrs. Hata desperately needs help on her cucumber farm. Rinko' mother wants her to spend the summer helping Mrs. Hata, her life-long friend. But 12-year-old Rinko sees Mrs. Hata's traditional Japanese ways as being backward and "crazy." When she gives in to her mother's request, she discovers Mrs. Hata is kind and courageous, fighting to save her farm. Before summer ends, RInko comes to appreciate and defend "crazy" Mrs. Hata.

A dying woman tells her son, Barry Griffith, she had been a surrogate mother for a millionaire, and that he is a twin to that baby.
