Zwischenfälle (2011)
In his work ‘Zwischenfälle’ (Incidents), created under a common title, Kowalski shows two video works and photo prints at the Neuer Kunstverein Wien. The double projection tells of the surveillance recordings made by the Polish secret service in the 1980s. Recordings made over several years of the street in Nowa Huta, Poland, where the worker Bogdan Wlosik was murdered by the secret service. From the composition of image and text, the projection becomes a private commentary on the absurdity of the communist system of control. The other video work is a photomontage in which Kowalski connects private and public life by combining photographs from his personal, private photo archive with the archive of a stranger.

Ortem (2004)
The main topic of the video work Ortem is the metro's traffic system, which creates a specific space and perception situation via its underground architecture. The film as an abstract essay focuses on phenomena like: speed, perception, architecture, memory and examines the two dimensional and anonymous aspect of everyday life and experience. The discourse about the representation of areas and places meets real architecture. The cinematic reflection of the social and cultural dispositives of urban spaces plumbs the intersections, which have designed it.

Elements (2005)
Elements relates directly to space, to impregnable landscapes and uncertain horizons. As the motifs, taken from the website "Alaska Weather Camera Program", are small airfields in Alaska, the weather conditions there, time lapse and collage make the functional data disappear. In the same way the concrete objects like cars and planes disappear.
