Before going to bed, Jana plays a lullaby on her violin for the little star. In the girl's imagination, the star dances happily and falls from the sky. The star has to be back in its place before sunrise otherwise it will become blind. Jana is not able to help with the star's return. The birds are also not successful. However, a cosmonaut brings the star home.

Thumbelina is born in a calyx. A bumblebee opens the flower and the little one goes on a journey of discovery. She has to hide from a nubile frog in a nut and lands on a water lily leaf. A fish bites through the stem of the leaf. Thumbelina swims down the stream until she is called to dance by a cockchafer. The dance fails and the beetle pushes her off the leaf into the depths. She falls into a spider's web and onto a dandelion. She sails away with an umbrella of seeds and lands on her calyx again. The autumn storm breaks the flower. Thumbelina finds shelter with a field mouse. There she cares for a sick swallow. The mouse wants to marry Thumbelina off to the mole, but the little girl manages to escape with the help of the swallow. They both fly off to the sunny south.

The animals and birds are enjoying themselves in a sunny forest clearing. A wolf is hunting in the neighboring thicket. He tracks down a deer, which flees into the clearing. There it is protected by a bear. The predator has to leave without prey. The woodpecker, jay and squirrel are now constantly on the lookout. When the wolf appears near the clearing again, the woodpecker beckons the animals to come and together they await the attack. A surprising intervention by the bear ends the wolf's life. The animals thank their savior and peace returns to the clearing.

A farmer and his wife had a girl in addition to their seven sons. An evil old woman turned the boys into ravens because she had not been invited to the christening. When the girl turned seven, she learned of the sad fate of her brothers and set out to redeem them. Little Max, Tüte, the director of the observatory and the head of the fire brigade all try to catch the sun so they can take her to bed. Hopefully they can save the party for the kids.
