End of Summer (2014)
A hypnotic and slow-burning journey through the austere landscapes of the island of South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula. Shot on black and white super 8 film as a series of mostly static tableaux over a period of 20 days during the waning days of the Antarctic Summer, the film is a startling look at life at the edge of the world.

Bardo (2015)
I initially visited Pyramiden in 2012 for four hours while on The Arctic Circle residency. I returned on my own, in July 2014, to continue ongoing research and begin development on a new project based specifically in Pyramiden. The goal of this fourteen-day expedition was to conceptually recreate and capture the last moments of Pyramiden before its residents hastily evacuated, as well as to document and interpret the rich narrative of remaining artifacts left behind before they are looted or destroyed. The result of this project is Bardo, a twelve-minute film that imagines the final movement of objects as remnants of a fleeing population, succinctly captured within the abandoned spaces throughout the village. The soundtrack was created on the world's northernmost 'Red October' grand piano.

The Visitors (2023)
The northernmost city in the world, Longyearbyen, is the most populated settlement in the Norwegian archipelago of Svalbard. A Czech social anthropologist attempts to make a new home for herself here with her family whilst also researching social transformations in the local community. The loss of jobs in the mining industry, as well as the complicated relationship between Norwegian natives, foreign immigrants, and tourists all contribute to the city's change of atmosphere whilst the surrounding snowy mountains melt and avalanches threaten the daily existence of the local population. This portrait of the microcosm of an ice town is a raw glimpse into the contemporary globalized world.

It's Not Silence (2019)
Far north, in the isles of Svalbard, is a small town called Pyramiden that was once the finest model of communism. Now the former home of Soviet workers is almost empty – but not completely abandoned. Every year thousands of tourists come to see the town of Pyramiden. Nine people live in Pyramiden to serve the tourists as guides, cooks and hotel employees. The residents live without Internet or telephone connections. It’s a place where one can hide from the flood of stimulus and constant messaging that surround us in the modern world – a sanctuary to find peace of mind.

Queen Without Land (2018)
This is the true story of the meeting between Frost, a beautiful polar bear mother, and Asgeir Helgestad, a Norwegian wildlife filmmaker. It is a four-year journey in Svalbard. Rising temperatures are responsible for dramatic changes in Frost's ecosystem as the ice is melting at record speed. From complete darkness to the absolute light of the midnight sun, Svalbard transforms from a cold and inhospitable place to the most joyous and lively scene for ice algae, fish, birds and animals. But alongside these seasonal transformations, the disappearing sea ice forces life to new limits. Fjords that were once full of ice and seals, get abandoned pushing Frost further away. Asgeir is determined to find her and document all that is being lost, but his task is far from easy. This film explores the question "this planet is home to all of us, can we afford to ignore it?"
