This documentary follows the struggle of five of these women, who have dedicated their lives to this fierce struggle, some advocating civil disobedience or lobbying MPs and Lords, the others choosing violent action, braving prison, and even death.

One morning, Laura Corre files a complaint against the former mayor of the southern town where she grew up, who had recently joined the government. She has to face the reluctance of the police officers taking her statement. After leaving Paris, Laura had returned to live with her father, Max, a former boxer who had become the mayor's chauffeur. With the armies of the Liberation at the gates of Paris, station manager Kurt Heyzmann receives an order from his superiors to withdraw. As a farewell, he decides to prepare one last prestigious program, to be filmed and broadcast live. Kleischter, a Gestapo lieutenant, emerges to try and spoil the show, by antagonizing Heyzmann and his employees. He believes that the war is not over, and continues to hunt down potential Jews and STO deserters on the TV premises.

She is at the age of rebellion, and also of her first love. For her, her father, Saïd, scarred by war and exile, accustomed to giving in, owes nothing to the French who enlisted him in the French army, then failed to protect them in Algeria. Thanks to her, with the help of a peasant couple, he will raise his head and the Benamars will leave the camp for a nearby farm.
