The film begins with two symbolic scenes: an eagle fluttering in a cage. Cossacks cut down pine trees with sabers to clear the field of fire. It is June 1980. A large rubbish dump near Wólka Węglowa, exactly where Polish cavalrymen charged German troops in 1939. Not far away is the Warsaw Steelworks. A group of former cavalrymen renew their efforts to erect a monument to the Polish cavalry. The cavalrymen stage a reenactment of the charge; it is a commented reconstruction of those events, supported by film documents. A strike breaks out on the coast, then at the Warsaw Steelworks. On radio and television, editor Ryszard Wojna warns the public against a repeat of the events of 1863. This has no effect on the workers' decision. A strike committee is formed at the steelworks, and the workers formulate their demands. The scenes at the steelworks and the strike situations are filmed live.

Before the war, at a carnival ball, she met the handsome Lech Oleszkiewicz. In September, war broke out. Hanna meets the engineer again and spends the night with him. In the morning, the man tells her that he is married. Hanna breaks off the relationship.

The Wild One (1987)
The forest man, Kondrat, tells the boys about a she-wolf with a young litter. They sneak into the lair. The she-wolf sets off in pursuit of her pups. Bierniuka falls into the swamp. He is rescued by Kondrat. He punishes him for taking all the wolf pups. Bierniuka names his wolfdog Dzikun. The poacher Mohila takes him away, and the wolf girl wishing to claim her pup is killed. Dzikun, however, manages to escape. After some time he eats the poisoned meat scattered by Mohila. Bierniuce and Kondrat manage to rescue Dzikun. Mohila and his companion make an ambush for the wolves, but they attack. Thin ice on the pond breaks under the companion, a young wolfdog is thrown at Mohila. Bierniuka recognizes Dzikun in him.
