A coastal city in Brazil. Kai arrives from Taiwan for holidays with a broken heart. A broken air conditioner sends her into Fu Ang’s umbrella store. He could become a friend, but the rainy season doesn't arrive and his shop disappears. While looking for Fu Ang, Kai discovers the story of Xiaoxin and a group of Chinese workers in a posh skyscraper. Kai finds herself strangely mirrored in Xiaoxin’s tale.

Saeed is a young cinephile trying to teach film rules to other young people in Eastern Ghouta, Syria, but the reality they face is too harsh to respect any rules. Saeed’s friend, Milad, is on the other side of the fence; in Damascus, a city under the control of the Assad regime, finishing his studies in Fine Arts. At one point, Milad decides to leave the capital and joins Saeed in a Douma under siege, where they set up a local radio station and a recording studio. They hold the camera to film everything, until one day it is the camera that films them.

Johanka and Matyáš have an unusual home. The two live among the animals and plants of an enchanted botanical garden in the middle of the city, but this idyll is under threat. To the children’s horror, the mayor wants to build a theme park on the same spot. The Blue Tiger, an animal with magic powers, comes to their aid. Only he can protect the garden, but Johanka and Matyáš must now stop the mayor from capturing their newfound friend. As children, they spent their summer vacations playing on building sites in what was then Yugoslavia; today, the dreams their parents realized there are now in their hands. The houses bear witness to the planned but repeatedly postponed return from Germany - as a made family and with the whole family. Left in the shell, carefully furnished or now threatened by decay, they are mostly uninhabited. The film is dedicated to these rooms in quiet shots; the five protagonists relate to them.
