The two end up living in a dismal basement apartment in Greenwich Village, where a parade of odd characters are constantly breezing in and out. After losing nearly all of an inheritance to taxes, sisters Kay and Barbara Latimer, waitresses at a drive-in restaurant in Texas, scheme to find rich husbands.
