In a futuristic Japan, the Sibyl System is charged with keeping the peace. When the state of SEAUn brings the Sibyl System in to test its effectiveness, it becomes a haven of peace and safety—for a time. Eventually, terrorists from SEAUn begin appearing in Japan, somehow slipping through the System's security and attacking from within. Desperate for answers, Inspector Akane Tsunemori is sent overseas to bring the terrorists to justice. In this suspense story, the main character, Johann Neudorff, immigrated to Argentina from Germany after World War Two, and has become a successful businessman there. He is unconcerned with the nature of the government there, which at the time of this film (1978) is a military dictatorship. His comfortable existence is disrupted when he discovers that his beloved daughter Laura has become the lover of a political activist who is on the military's hit list. When his daughter is kidnapped, Johann attempts to use his government connections to free both her and her lover. However, his son Alfredo undermines his efforts, and Johann himself is incarcerated in a military prison, but not before he discovers that his daughter and her lover are both dead, killed by the regime.

Rodrigo, a piano-tuner and former composer fallen on hard times, begins a love affair with the soon-to-be-married Susana. When a bomb in the city of Medellín nearly kills them, Rodrigo and Susana surrender to their attraction and fall into each other’s arms. Cocooned in her apartment above the vibrant city, Susana opens up to him every night and tells him a story of each of the different men from her past. Ken Saro-Wiwa was a well-known Nigerian writer and activist who led a peaceful resistance movement against environmental racism practices by nigerian authorities and multinational oil companies in the Niger Delta, Nigeria. In 1995, along with eight other activists, he was tried by a fraudulent military court and sentenced to death. Through interviews with artists, activists and family members, the documentary presents its history, the impacts caused by the oil exploration in the Delta and the political and cultural relevance of artistic projects in London dedicated to its memory.
