My Winnipeg (2008)
The geographical dead center of North America and the beloved birthplace of Guy Maddin, Winnipeg, is the frosty and mysterious star of Maddin’s film. Fact, fantasy and memory are woven seamlessly together in this work, conjuring a city as delightful as it is fearsome.

Pavements (2025)
'90s indie-rock band Pavement reunites for their sold-out 2022 tour. But as preparations get underway, surreal tributes emerge: an off-Broadway musical adaptation of their songs, a museum devoted entirely to the band’s legacy, and a shamelessly awards-baiting Hollywood biopic.

A Man Vanishes examines the concept of Johatsu, tackling the phenomenon of people missing in Japan over the years. Dry Ground Burning (2023)

Who’s Stopping Us (2021)
Quién lo impide is a call to change our perception of adolescents and youths; our idea of those born in the early 21st century who have recently reached adulthood; those who now seem guilty of everything as they themselves see their hopes dashed. Somewhere between documentary, fiction and pure testimonial record, the young adolescents show themselves the way they really are, the way we rarely see them, or the way they let us see them: taking advantage of the film camera to show off the best of themselves and renew our trust in the future; from fragility and emotion, with humour, intelligence, beliefs and ideas. Because the young people who speak to us about love, friendship, politics or education refer not only to their own situation, but to the things that always matter to us, at any age. Quién lo impide is a film about ourselves: about what we were, what we are and what we will continue to be.

I, a Negro (1959)

The film depicts an ordinary week in the lives of men and women from Niger who have migrated to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire for work.

Painting Pain (2021)
The film approaches the work of the Greek artist Nikos Koniaris. The particular way in which the painter depicts human suffering is presented through a film - a hybrid of real recording and directed material. The grief, the sick body, is reflected in self portraits, portraits of dying strangers and paintings of dead models. The paintings, apart from his work, also express a different version of himself. All together contribute to the depiction of man as a "garment of pain".

Invincible Force (2011)
Invincible Force follows its subject (Drew Ailes) for 90 consecutive days as he documents his incredible transformation of body, mind and spirit. Drew begins his journey as a lazy worthless shell of a man but through physical fitness and extreme dedication Drew is able to build a new, more powerful self. Invincible Force was made with a budget of zero using only equipment, media, props, wardrobe and locations that were found, borrowed or stolen. Invincible Force was carefully scripted and stylized but the stunning transformation of body and character it captures is entirely real.

The Solitudes (1992)
"At that time (late 1992), I made a film for British television, Channel 4, called Las Soledades, the name of a long poem by Góngora. It was made in Chile, using many poetic elements of the country. Chile is seen through the eyes of a Chinese painter—a painter who uses the traditional 18th-century concepts of Shih-Tao. Once again, I am doing something that, apparently, is not meant to go hand in hand. The landscape of my country, southern Chile, where I was born, initially provokes in me a feeling of fear. The landscape is madness. In these crazy landscapes, you can find very reasonable people, which makes the landscape seem even crazier."

Flag of Eden (2019)
It's been 5 years since Ukrainian Crimea was annexed by Russia. The film is exploring Crimean life in the post-truth era, when the voice of common people is overlaid by governmental propaganda. 5 heroes express their opinion on the situation in Crimea under the Russian flag, talk about their hopes and fears. Real lives of characters are hidden under the official Russian position, full of enthusiasm, bravado and imperial pride. Moreover, propaganda romanticizes militarism and imperial expansion, making it desirable and «sexy» for Russians. While Crimean «homecoming to Russia» as media call it, is considered as the main Russia's achievement of the century, «home-comers» themselves don't feel that confident about their future.
