A meditation on civilization. July, 2001: friends wave as a cruise ship departs Lisbon for Mediterranean ports and the Indian Ocean. This not only provides an insight into shipbuilding in those days, but also into the social and political conditions within which the people involved in the Northern Irish shipbuilding industry operated shortly before the outbreak of the First World War.
