When Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco meet at college, they are at that formative age when seemingly mundane choices lead the way to irrevocable consequences. They quickly fall into an addictive entanglement that will permanently alter not only their lives, but the lives of everyone around them.

Real-Life Romance: The actors who play the infamously toxic couple, Stephen and Lucy (Jackson White and Grace Van Patten), are actually dating in real life. They started their relationship before filming for season 1 began.
Campus Double: While Tell Me Lies is set at the fictional Baird College on the East Coast, the college scenes were filmed at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. This women's liberal arts college has also been used in other productions like Fried Green Tomatoes and Scream 2.
Creator's Connection: Tom Ellis, who plays Professor Oliver, is married to Tell Me Lies' creator and showrunner, Meaghan Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer cast Ellis partly to ensure that actress Catherine Missal, who becomes romantically involved with Oliver in season 2, would feel safe during filming.
