Investigative journalist Petr Vlcek is contacted by an anonymous source who provides information about a bribe that changed hands during a privatization deal at Central Energy. Though the main suspect is his brother Daniel, Central Energy’s CEO, Petr boldly purses the story, as public pressure forces Daniel to resign.

Six months later, Petr, still feeling responsible for the events surrounding his brother, has relegated himself to the newspaper’s lifestyle section, far removed from the ongoing investigation into Central Energy.
