Season 1

At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Xiao Fugui's grandfather was the imperial chef of the Empress Dowager Cixi, but he was accidentally involved in a conspiracy, and was mistakenly regarded as the culprit of poisoning and thrown into prison. In order to restore his grandfather's innocence, Xiao Fugui resolutely embarked on a journey. He wants to obtain eighteen golden kitchen utensils by himself, and carry forward the style of Hongjia cuisine. The fighting spirit of Xiao Fugui naturally attracted the attention of Lao K, the mastermind behind the scenes, and became the opponent he wanted to get rid of. On the way of adventure, Xiao Fugui met the chivalrous girl Xiao Feidie who wanted to assassinate the Empress Dowager Cixi to avenge her parents, and the two helped each other. In the end, can Xiao Fugui realize his wish?

S1E1 - Episode 1

The Buddha fled west: Empress Dowager Cixi fled west, and her diet became a problem. Small town style (calm on the eve of the earthquake), chef Hong, whose family has fallen, forces Xiao Fugui to learn cooking to revitalize his family business. Chef Hong was arrested, and the little cook felt bad.

Xiao Lizi was about to kill Xiao Fugui in order to get rid of the relationship, but news came that he wanted the chef to make a medicinal meal, so he hastily kept him under the knife. Xiao Fugui was looking for ingredients for medicinal meals, but he couldn't get them all together. He remembered his grandfather's recipe and used the existing ingredients to make medicinal meals. Lafayette recovered from a serious illness and left the town. Xiao Fugui is exempt from the death penalty, but he cannot escape the crime of living. He traveled westward with the Queen Mother to make meritorious deeds. Prompted by Xiao Lizi, Xiao Fugui decided to use pigeons to nourish Lafayette.
