The emotions of a celebrity and her interpreter get lost in translation as they travel the world filming a TV show. Will love find its own language?

A Tale of Two Titles: The drama was initially known under the working titles Can This Person Interpret? and Interpretation of Salvation before landing on Can This Love Be Translated?. The initial plan included overseas filming in China, but COVID-19 caused delays and changes to the project.
Global Filming Locations: To highlight the characters' emotional journeys, filming took place across four countries: Japan, Canada, Italy, and South Korea. Each location was chosen to reflect a specific stage of the couple's relationship, from the initial meeting in Japan to the deepening emotions in Canada and the reflective moments in Italy.
Multilingualism on Set: Actor Kim Seon-ho had to learn lines in Korean, English, Japanese, and Italian to portray the multilingual interpreter Joo Ho-jin. He described the language training as almost like going through a meticulous training process.
Director's Vision: Director Yoo Young-eun aimed to blend each country's colors and spaces into the characters’ narratives so that the emotional arc would be revealed naturally. She wanted to showcase everyday yet beautiful places in Korea rather than large and flashy spaces.
From Zombie to Superstar: In the show, Cha Mu-hee rises to global fame after starring as a zombie protagonist named Do Ra-mi in a horror film. The character of Do Ra-mi later becomes significant as a manifestation of Mu-hee's suppressed childhood memories.
