Black Rabbit (2025)

A rising-star restaurateur is forced into New York's criminal underworld when his chaotic brother returns to town with loan sharks on his trail.

Real Restaurant Inspiration: The show's creators, Kate Susman and Zach Baylin, drew inspiration from real, artsy, and sometimes seedy New York City restaurants they frequented for 17 years. They were fascinated by the creative people who ran these establishments and the "show" they put on every night.
Brooklyn Bridge Shut Down: The production team managed to shut down the Brooklyn Bridge for filming, allowing Jason Bateman to run across it for a scene and enabling several car chases. This was a major achievement, as the creators got very few "nos" when requesting locations.
Bateman's Directorial Debut (Again): Jason Bateman not only starred as Vince Friedken but also directed the first two episodes, setting the tone for the series. Laura Linney, Bateman's former TV wife from Ozark, directed the following two episodes, making it a family affair both on and off-screen.
Punk Rock Flashback: In episode 2, there's a flashback to Jake and Vince's past as alt-rockers in a band called "The Black Rabbits". Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes wrote two original songs for the show, and Jude Law performed the vocals, channeling his best Julian Casablancas impression.
Gritty New York Authenticity: The series was filmed on location throughout New York City, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the West Village, to capture the city's gritty underbelly. The production team avoided glossy sets and embraced the city's reality, filming in locations like the now-closed Bridge Cafe and the 10th Street Russian & Turkish Baths.
