Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston embark on the first of three road trips, to show each other some of the places that shaped their lives. The pair take a trip around their home city of Liverpool, exploring the nostalgic and the new, visiting Brookside Close, and Liverpool footballer John Barnes joins them for a pie-making masterclass at a community bakery.

In the Midlands, Ricky Tomlinson and Sue Johnston visit the Belgrade theatre in Coventry, where Sue worked as a young actress. The pair also share two of their literary passions, as Ricky recreates a scene from Pride and Prejudice.
