Galina asks Alexey to throw away the old table, which she has long stopped liking. The man feels bad about getting rid of the furniture that his father bought, so he asks his colleague to allow him to bring the table to work. In exchange, Alexey agrees to take a new graduate student under his wing.
When the teacher drives up to the institute, he almost hits the girl. Later, he is introduced to a new girl named Tatyana, who turns out to be his casual acquaintance. Tanya tries to seduce the teacher, and she succeeds.
