We’re time traveling on Retro Tennessee Crossroads. First, we’ll go back to the early ‘90s and join the garbage gals for a day on the job. Then, we’ll meet a woman who was known as Memphis’s rock ‘n’ roll granny. We’ll take a ride on the Tennessee Valley Railroad. And finally, we’ll explore the mystery of the Melungeons of Hancock County.​

Joe Elmore takes us to Mason, home of a world-famous southern delicacy. And finally, Al Voecks introduces us to Nashville Pipes and Drums, Middle Tennessee's premiere bagpipe band since 1984.

Tim O’Brien goes to a place where dancers bop ‘til they drop listening to the music of the ‘50s and ‘60s. And Susan Allen takes us to Thompson Station to learn about a national treasure of Peru, Peruvian Paso horses.

In 1992, Jana Stanfield meets a guy who rehabilitates cars with classic appeal. And Al Voecks reminds us of a holiday tradition from 1953 to 1968 in Nashville: the nativity scene in Centennial Park.

And Jana Stanfield discovers a Kingston Springs artist who captures signs of olden times.

We have a full time travel lineup! Jerry Thompson pays a visit to the Cumberland General Store, a place where the new merchandise is right out of the past. Joe takes you to Clermont, Ky., to meet the grandson of Jim Beam. Jana Stanfield shares the fascinating story of the Houston Museum in Chattanooga. And finally, Al Voecks goes to Leiper's Fork to meet a craftsman who makes classic canoes.

We're headed to East Nashville in 1993. That's where Al Voecks witnesses a dream come true in 24 hours. Joe Elmore takes you to Red Boiling Springs, home of the famous healing waters and folk medicine heroes. Janet Tyson meets up with a maker of wooden horses over in Cornersville. And finally, Al Voecks is home on the range in Dickson County at a llama ranch.

S1E12 - Episode 12

This time on Retro Tennessee Crossroads, our first stop is Old Hickory Boulevard in 1989. There and then we'll find a festive spirit, bluegrass lovers and a toe-tappin’ good time. Al Voecks meets up with an all-tuba ensemble over in Cookeville. We lift off for a breathtaking view of Middle Tennessee in a hot-air ballooning and finally pay a visit to a real working gristmill.
