Double Happiness (2004)

Season 1

The main female character in the show is Yaxi, who has to struggle with the Luo family for the control of Happy Fish, a Fish and Chips Restaurant. Yaxi, who is married to the Luos' second son Jiaqi, is a career woman who had hardly frequents a kitchen and is asked to look after Happy Fish by her dying mother-in-law.

S1E1 - Episode 1

Si Tu Yaxi, a young vice president at a media company, suffers from severe stomach problems due to the intense pressure of her job. On this day, the seventh day of the Lunar New Year, known as "Renri" (the day of humans), and also Valentine's Day for Westerners—a double celebration—it turns out to be a day of misfortune for Yaxi.

Jiaqi took Yaxi to watch his brother Jiafu, who is an actor, perform in a play. The two of them were so exhausted and drowsy from watching that they could barely stay awake. However, their companion, the 'little genius' Wenwen, was thoroughly engrossed in the performance. For the 80th birthday of Luo Di, the founder of 'Happy Fish,' all the members of the Luo family gathered to celebrate and wish him a happy birthday.

Wenwen admitted to the mistake of turning (deep-fried fish) into (fraudulent fish), which caused Old Grandpa Luo Di to shift from anger to laughter. The 80th birthday celebration finally ended on a comedic note. This was Yaxi's first time gathering with Jiaqi's family. Having grown up in a single-parent household, she was quite unaccustomed to this kind of extended family life. However, she believed that this was just a rare occasion and that she wouldn’t have many opportunities to interact with Jiaqi's family in the future.

When Jialong pressed further, A Lie finally admitted that he had been coerced by the opponent into transporting drugs.
