Angelo Ledda lives two totally separate lives — fearsome NYC hitman and sleepy upstate Cooperstown photocopier salesman and father. Both of them are threatened when he is diagnosed with Alzheimer's, a disease he already lost his older brother to.

From McDreamy to McKiller: Patrick Dempsey, known for his role as Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd in Grey's Anatomy, takes on a completely different persona as Angelo Doyle, a hitman with early-onset Alzheimer's in Memory of a Killer. Dempsey himself stated he has a dark side he hadn't been able to express until this role.
Inspired by a Belgian Film: The series is based on the 2003 award-winning Belgian film De Zaak Alzheimer (also known as The Alzheimer Case). The show adapts the film's core premise for American television, blending high-stakes action with emotional family stakes.
A Restaurant as a Front: Michael Imperioli, known for his role in The Sopranos, plays Dutch, Angelo's oldest friend and employer. Dutch owns a restaurant in the Bronx that serves as a front for his criminal enterprise, where he assigns hits.

They aimed to depict the early signs of Alzheimer's, such as forgetting PINs or misplacing keys, to help viewers understand the disease's progression.
A Nod to "Behind Blue Eyes": The teaser trailer features The Who's "Behind Blue Eyes", which emphasizes the isolation of Angelo. The trailer also includes quick cuts between Angelo as a hitman and as a loving father, highlighting the blurring of his two worlds.
