Follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on adventures across the universe.

Drunk Dialect: To achieve Rick's signature drunken speech, co-creator Justin Roiland, who voices both Rick and Morty, would sometimes get genuinely tipsy during recording sessions. This method acting helped him capture the character's slurred and burped lines, though it occasionally made the recording process less productive.
Improv Magic: While the scripts are tightly written, the voice actors are given room to improvise, leading to some of the show's most memorable and hilarious moments. This spontaneity keeps the performances fresh and allows the actors to bring their own unique flair to the characters.
Harmon's Divorce Easter Egg: In a less light-hearted Easter egg, the closing image for Dan Harmon's "Harmonious Claptrap" vanity card changed to reflect his post-divorce life. Seasons 1 and 2 showed a happy display of him and his family, while Season 3 depicted him alone with his animals, surrounded by alcohol and trash.
'Back to the Future' Origins: 'Rick and Morty' began as a crude parody of 'Back to the Future,' with Roiland creating a short called 'The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti'. Dan Harmon loved the short and they developed it into the series we know today.
Theme Tune's Secret Past: The show's iconic theme song, composed by Ryan Elder, was originally written for a completely different, unaired pilot called "Dog World". Roiland repurposed the music, blending elements of 'Doctor Who' and 'Farscape' themes to create the signature 'Rick and Morty' sound.
