This picture is about the fate of historical figures - Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich and his son Fyodor Alekseevich, the Morozov brothers, boyar Feodosia Morozova, about the church reforms of Patriarch Nikon and the ardent opponents of these transformations led by Archpriest Avvakum.
