S1E1 - Along the Belgian Coast
In the first episode, Arnout, together with his travel packers (cameraman Philippe Niclaes and soundman Ruben Callens), leaves Bruges, which was once the most important port city on the North Sea.
With a canoe he searches the small road to Het Zwin. In an old fisherman's chapel in Heist, a woman tells him a moving story. Arnout discovered that Ostend used to be on an island and continues towards France. In Dunkirk he makes a special discovery on the beach.

S1E3 - The English East Coast
Arnout continues along the English east coast, where every year dozens of meters of land and many houses are swallowed by the sea. He meets with Derrick, who threatens to lose his home for the second time in his life.
Along an ancient pilgrim path Arnout reaches Holy Island, on the border with Scotland.

S1E4 - The Rugged Scottish Coast
Arnout crosses the Scottish border. The coastline is getting rougher and more dramatic. He comes across the Donald Trump golf course, which meets strong protest from the local residents. Together with some biologists he goes in search of orcas.

S1E5 - The Back Door of Europe
Arnout goes to the remote Orkney and Shetland Islands. With a few divers, he goes looking for the sunken German fleet from the First World War.
He travels by plane to Fair Isle, the most remote inhabited island in the North Sea. Life is very hard there, the few islanders know that only too well.

S1E6 - To the Land of the Vikings
Some fishermen take Arnout from Shetland to Norway, the land of the Vikings.
After a turbulent sea voyage, Arnout reaches the Sognefjord, which brings the North Sea water 200 kilometers inland.
He ends up in a village where people still live like real Vikings.
