Behind Silk Curtains (1988)

LINGHING-KWONG suffers business setbacks in running TAI FOK Department Store, He asks his son KA-SU to comeback from the States to give him a hand. This causes great resentment in his elder daughter LING MAN; who wants to turn around the store with her talents. LING MAN is fervently pursued by banker. SAI-CHEONG, who intends to swallow Ling's business. KA-SU dies in a car accident. HING-KWONG thinks that his youngest son. KA-MING is responsible for it.

April 11, 1988, midnight

HING KWONG's business have gone bankrupt. He gets into conflicts with LING MAN who moves out of the house. Determined to succeed in life, LING MAN gets married with SAI-CHEONG. KA-MING takes up the burden of the family. His girlfriend Maggie leaves. him and turns to SAI-CHEONG's son LAPKAI. KA-MAN discovers that SAI-CHEONG is net as wealthy as she has thought. All the bank properties are to belong to the son of his ex-wife and her sister CHOUYEE-CHU. LING MAN starts mother quarrel with HING-KWONG. Over-excited, HING-KWONG. dies of heart attack:

YEE-CHU gets acquainted with KA MING and falls in love with him. LING MAN discovers that SAI-CHEONG co-operates with the company accountant to embezzle company funds. SAI-CHEONG admits it and persuades LING-MAN to join his plan in seizing the properties of YEE-CHU from her. YEE-CHO gets married with KA-MING. Maggie starts an affair with LAP-KAI and gets pregnant. She wants to blackmail LAP-KAI but fails. She is dumped by him pitilessly.

April 13, 1988, midnight

SAI-CHEONG discovers that he is under intense investigation by the police. At this point, he is blackmailed by To MING. During the negotiation, LAP-KAI kills TO by pushing him into the sea. SAI-CHEONG grabs a big sum of money and plans to flee with LAP-KAI. But their passports axe-held by SAI-CHEONG's younger son HO-YING. They force him to give back the passport in exchange for YEE-CHU whom they have abducted. However, SAI-CHEONG and LAP-KAI are finally arrested by the police. YEE-CHU is saved by KA-MING.
