He's in love, but shortly after agreeing to marry him, his girlfriend disapears. His search leads to her home town, where people are clearly hiding information from him. One of the things they are hiding is the fact that they are all werewolves, as is John's girlfriend, Ruby.

A man from the Bureau of Wildlife Management goes to a small town to see about problems with wolves that have been reintroduced to the wild. In the town of Wolf Lake some people are ranchers that hate wolves, and the rest are wolves themselves.
This unaired pilot contains most of the stars of the show but they all have different character names.

Leekley touches on why he stepped way from the show as well as the very different and more heavily serialized direction Wolf Lake would've taken under his stewardship. Actor Paul Wesley also looks back on his time with the series, including the daunting audition process.
