Hotel do Rio (2024)

A hotel by the coast in Northern Portugal. It is morning, and the family that manages it starts their day. Unexpectedly, the matriarch, Sara, arrives with her granddaughter, Salomé, whose father has just died. Her arrival exposes the bitterness and regret from the life choices made by the various women in the family, and worsens the relationship between the grandmother and Salomé's mother, Piedade. The first guests arrive - photographer Jaime and influencer Camila - a couple going through a crisis, amid the insinuations of a close friend and the meddling of Jaime's mother.

July 15, 2024, midnight

The young actress Júlia is surprised by her girlfriend Alice, who sent a video of her to a casting call. Judite, Júlia's mother, sees her weekend and life plans threatened by the ulterior motives of her daughter's seductive girlfriend. Salomé questions her mother, Piedade, about her absence and abandonment. The couple Alexandre and Graça, along with the newly widowed mother-in-law, Elisa, arrive at the hotel in the aftermath of Graça's father's death.

July 22, 2024, midnight

During dinner, Camila informs Jaime of her desire to move out and live with another man. Sara is blamed by the family for the hotel's financial problems and its imminent bankruptcy. Judite and Alice vie for attention and influence over Júlia's future choices. Elisa pressures Graça to have children to secure her marriage with Alexandre. Sara confronts Piedade about her inability to be a good mother.

July 29, 2024, midnight

The growing bond between Elisa and Alexandre is shaken by the revelation that her husband left no inheritance after all. Júlia realizes that her future depends on a drastic choice between her mother's love and her girlfriend's. Piedade makes a final attempt to reconnect with her daughter Salomé.
