A cabaret hostess is murdered by a middle-aged man in a hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo, over a financial dispute. Through the mysterious murder of the middle-aged man, this film depicts the cruelty of modern society, as well as the lonely families and parents and children. [Contents] Kikuchi is a public defender in the case of the murder of the hostess Keiko in a love hotel, and is assigned to defend the man known as Harada Shoichi, who stayed with her. Harada was invited to the hotel by Keiko in the park, but he strangled her to death over a financial dispute. However, this case has become a "ghost trial" in which both the assailant and the victim only know each other's false names.
