The story of stories... Nazaré is happy in her life with Duarte and their children, Alice and little Zé. By disguising herself and taking on a false identity, Nazaré is now Carla Isabel, at least until she manages to prove her innocence. While on the run, Nazaré gets in the High Note tour bus and is forced to leave Duarte and her children behind. As she manages to gain the trust of Mel, Leandro and Sandra, besides the label’s bus driver, she also lends a hand as a bodyguard for Romeu’s daughter.

In the autumn of 1810, the French forces of Marshal Masséna are invading Portugal and are temporarily halted by the Anglo-Portuguese army under Viscount Wellington at the Battle of Bussaco. As winter approaches, Wellington withdraws his troops towards the fortifications he has prepared in secret at the Lines of Torres Vedras. Using a scorched earth defense, he forces the inhabitants to evacuate the land, destroying all supplies that could be useful to the French. We see the effects on combatants, both regular soldiers and guerrillas, and on the civilian population.
