In 1402, five legendary stones of immense power were aboard a ship when tragedy struck. Everyone aboard the ship was lost except one official who happened to grab hold of the "red" stone. Six hundred years later, scientists in a remote lab are experimenting with the same red stone when they fall victim to an explosion set by Professor X. Our story begins 5 years later after another explosion caused by Prof. X occurs at an event on a campus designed to gather interest in reviving the lab's work.
