Fyodor is an ordinary guy who discovers a mysterious gift. He is being followed by people in desperate need to find closure from their past. One little inconvenience- they are ghosts. And the only way to get rid of them is for Fyodor to help them find what is holding them off on Earth and help them make a final departure. Things get even more complicated when Fyodor's own father appears on his doorstep. He was only nineteen when he died, and his closure is the fact that he left behind a son that he didn't really get to know.

The heroes are ordinary people “of the people”, contemporaries of Shukshin, all of whose life’s ups and downs are inextricably linked with their country - the Soviet Union of the 60s-70s. The main thing that unites both the works themselves and the films made is a whole gallery of the brightest images and characters, a story about such different destinies and differently meaningful lives, a story in the center of which is invariably Man, with his love, quests, weaknesses and victories.

The story of the bloody confrontation between the new Chief of Criminal Police, a former local thief nicknamed the 'Ace', and a ruthless gangster, 'Mednik' is dramatic, very human and very deep. The audience watches in awe the transformation of an inexperienced strong-headed bully into a deeply caring, strategically thinking chief investigator and a team leader. His criminal past allows Ace to successfully navigate through the gang wars eliminating outlaws one after another, until he runs into Mednik who escapes from all traps leaving pile of corpses behind. The conspiracy to overturn the Bolsheviks' regime culminates the last episodes and it's impossible to guess what will happen next. It's a well-written, well-directed and well-acted series with the kind of picture so engaging and immersing that the audience really feels lost when it's over.

By nature, he is such a philosopher, with an incomprehensible confusing past. He is an expert in many fields. And as the film progresses, it becomes clear that he understands art, philosophy, cinema, and is able to express his opinion effectively. And so he tells the guests different stories. And each story is a separate series, with its own beginning, culmination and denouement. And the main character unites all these stories. And an ironic attitude to all these events.

The history of the series develops around three Suvorov graduates - Ilya Sukhomlin, Stepan Perepechko and Alexei Syrnikov, who entered the Moscow Higher Military Command School at the end of the summer, where each of them is awarded the rank of junior sergeant. Along with the Suvorovites, graduates of ordinary schools, without a military education, called "schoolchildren" - Dmitry Krasilnikov, Gennady Varnava and Nikolai Kovnadsky, enter the school. The third side is made up of the so-called "army men" - Evgeny Bragin, Sergey Gonchar and Stepan Prokhorov - who have already served as conscripts in the army and have more practice than theory. Later, Maxim Makarov, transferred from St. Petersburg for a fight with a colleague, joins the main characters. Aleksey Syrnikov, meanwhile, is being transferred to the Ryazan Airborne School, which he dreamed about while still being a Suvorovite.

On June 21, 1941, the artists of the traveling circus tent under the direction of the famous hypnotist Andrei Belov, who performs under the pseudonym the Great Armando, give their first performance in a small Latvian town. During the performance of the number under the dome, Belov's wife, the aerial equilibrist Elsa, sees a little girl among the audience, meets her eyes, loses her balance and falls into the arena. This girl is a copy of Masha, the daughter of Elsa and Belov, who died five years ago.
