Following the 1911 Xinhai Revolution that overthrew the Qing dynasty, China entered a period of turmoil, with drastic political changes and the start of the Warlord Era. The adapted story tells that in a turbulent period of the separatism of the nations, Lian Qi, in order to avenge the slaying of the king, tolerated his name, and from this led to a complex entanglement of love, and the ultimate choice of his family, the world, and his personal morality.
